Animation Festival Brings Int'l Prize Winners to Seoul

The 2008 Animpact, which invites award-winning animation films from the four major international animation film festivals in the world this year, will be held from Monday to Nov. 28 in Cinus Isu in Sadang-dong, Seoul, and from Nov. 20 to 26 in Art House Momo in Daehyeon-dong, Seoul.

The festival is an opportunity to watch 72 recent short and long animation films from 24 countries which won awards from the Annecy, Zagreb, Hiroshima and Ottawa festivals.

Unreleased animation films from Argentina, Brazil, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia and Switzerland and elsewhere will be featured, all classified according to suitable age and audience, the Animpact organizing committee said.

Izabela Plucinska, a 35-year-old Polish animator who directed "Breakfast", the winner of the Hiroshima International Animation Festival, is to sign autographs.
