[Reporter : Michelle Kim] Hello Conn-young

So where can we go to enjoy the spring season ?

[Reporter : ] I'm sure a lot of people think of flower festivals when they plan an outing on spring day. So I have an event that for some of you may require an overnight trip to check out beautiful, colorful flowers in different regions of Korea.

As the days are getting warmer, all the different regions of Korea are having their own festivals to celebrate the new season and appreciate the flower blossoms.

It is still quite chilly in the early mornings and late at night, but the valleys and the grass fields of the Southern provinces of Jeolla-do are overflowing with spring flowers. To celebrate and share this beautiful sight with people from other parts of Korea, the southern province has is holding its annual Spring Flower Festival.

From yellow forsythias, pastel pink apricot blossoms, red camellia flowers and snow white magnolias, the Yu-dal Mountains at Mokpo are filled with gorgeous flowers.

The Palgong Mountains in Daegu have also been crowded with springtime picnickers who come to enjoy the fully bloomed spring flowers and other exciting events.

People are enchanted by the numerous bushels of white magnolias at the Palgong Mountain beltway and sentimentalize over the deepening of spring.

Another charm of this spring flower event is the making of bibimbap, large enough to feed 2000 people.

[Interview : Kim Ji-hae, Daegu Resident] "I waited in line for half an hour to eat this delicious bibimbap. It's really nice to come here and not just look at flowers but also to eat delicious food.

The 8th Hangang Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is being held from the 13th to the 23rd of this month. The cherry blossoms aren't in full bloom just yet, but the trees and paths look just as pink and beautiful.

Yeouido will be filled with not just beautiful scenery but also other events. From the 17th to the 20th there will be movie screenings at the floating stage, featuring films "The Happy Life" and "Spiriting Away".

Sounds like spring is definitely here now! I think this will be a great place to go if you want to really enjoy the spring season...and for the people living a couple hours away from these regions, this could be a great weekend trip with your family and friends.

[Reporter : ] There are also other things that the festivals and the regions offer to visitors as well. For instance, near the flower festival in Yeouido, visitors can also take water taxis or cruiser yachts on the Han River to take a tour around Seoul as well.

Water taxis sound very interesting, I live near the Han river and I have never tried this form of transportation so I might have to get on that.

[Reporter : ] And also the different regions have their signature foods, like Daegu is famous for their barbequed abomasum intestines and Jeolla-do is famous for their bibimbap so you can go to look at the beautiful flowers and also eat amazing Korean food.

What better way is there to enjoy the weekend when you have a beautiful scenery and delicious food[Reporter : ] I'm sure we've all been there when it comes to accepting someone who's different from you, and agreeing to disagree with another person's opinions. A play covers this aspect with the theme cigarettes. Take a look.

If your loved one had just one flaw that was just so hard to understand and accept, what would you do ?

[Reporter : ] The play Fume Cette Cigarette will be held until the 29th at the Sanwoolim Theatre Company and the Gangdong Spring Dance Festival will be held until May 5th at the Gangdong Art Center.

I'm curious about this Dance Festival, I'm not really sure what do expect, since it's covering such a wide range of dance genres and forms.

[Reporter : ] Well you know, this particular dance festival isn't just about watching dance performances, but you can also enjoy photo exhibitions and concerts held outside the theater building. So you can watch the dance performances and also enjoy concerts and have a great time dancing yourself.

I think this week is definitely going to be a busy week for me in order to go to all of these events! And you have more events to keep us busy right[Reporter : ] Yes I do, I have a concert, and two music festivals for you.

[Reporter : ed:mark] This bulletin features three events
