Bae Yong-joon's Japanese Homepage Hacked

TOKYO - The official Japanese homepage of Bae Yong-joon, better known by his nickname "Yonsama" in Japan, was temporarily shut down by IMX, the operator of the site, due to a massive amount of messages defaming Bae, the Japanese media reported Sunday. According to IMX, messages slandering Bae began to appear on the website from last Thursday afternoon, and the number of calumnious messages exploded, putting enormous pressure on its servers.

After the investigation, it turned out that the Internet IDs of registered users had been hacked and used by other people. IMX figured out that the personal information of the users had been leaked, and decided to close down Bae's homepage at 2 a.m. last Friday.

IMX said the personal information of about 1,000 users appeared to have been leaked, and apologized to the users for flawed security measures. IMX plans to close the homepage until full countermeasures are being made.
