BTS Win 2 MTV Video Music Awards

BTS won two gongs at the annual MTV Video Music Awards in New Jersey on Monday.

They won the Best K-Pop and Best Group awards but did not attend the awards show to accept the trophies. They were also nominated in three other categories -- Best Art Direction, Best Choreography and Best Collaboration but lost.

Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift, who opened the show with a rainbow-themed performance of her pro-LGBTQ single "You Need to Calm Down", won two awards including Video of the Year, and this year's awards were swept by female artists including Ariana Grande, Cardi B and Missy Elliott.
