Buddhist painting of Joseon returns home

Buddha Yeongsanhoido, a Buddhist painting created in 1592 (25th year of King Seonjo) of the Joseon Dynasty, has been repatriated to Korea from Japan in about 420 years.

The painting describes Buddha at the center, Sacheonwang (four Divas) at the bottom, eight Buddhist saints, including Gwanseeum (bodhisattva of compassion), Mireuk (Maitreya) and Moonsoo (bodhisattva of wisdom and intellect), and Buddha`s 10 disciples.
