Burglaries Double Over Lunar New Year

Burglaries nearly doubled during the Lunar New Year break over the last few years, according to security service provider S1.

Most break-ins took place in restaurants with 37 percent, followed by homes and schools with 10 percent each.
Some 83 percent of stolen goods were cash, followed by jewelry at 17 percent.
Another security firm, KT telecop, said its records of dispatches from last three years suggest that most burglaries occur on the first day of the break, accounting for 35 percent.
