Canada/Korea Joint Production

The Seoul Film Commission recently announced a US$7 million Canadian-South Korean co-production, to be filmed in Seoul in early 2008. The feature project, with the working title "Anti Hero", will be the second co-production developed by Ontario-based film company Landed Entertainment. A smaller-scale production called "Anything Can Happen" will be shot in Korea and Canada later this year and is currently in pre-production.

Korean-Canadian director Junga Song, also an actress and production designer, will helm both projects, while Ali Mashayekhi will produce them. Anti Hero will announce a cast of A-grade actors later this month. The big-budget film is the story of a world in which everyone possesses a specific skill that makes them unique, except for the protagonist who does not know what his own skill might be. Producer Mashayekhi also wrote the screenplay.

Song and Mashayekhi are currently in Seoul for location scouting. The project hopes to take advantage of an incentive program recently announced by the Seoul Film Commission (SFC) in which up to 25% of production costs in Seoul for a maximum of US$ 100 000 will be refunded. SFC also provided air tickets and accommodation for location scouting.
