"Dae Jang Geum 2" falls through again

"Dae Jang Geum 2" has been canceled indefinitely as a result of Lee Young-ae's refusal of the main role.

According to several MBC officials, "Dae Jang Geum 2" decided not to release this year due to Lee Young-ae's declination and difficulties with production. "Dae Jang Geum 2" was scheduled to broadcast after "The Night Watchman" in October.

However, with the recent cancelation of the drama, "Lawless World" may take its place.

MBC has been sending Lee Young-ae love calls since the end of last year but in the end, she refused to join the drama. Apparently, she claimed personal matters when she turned down the offer, also, discussions about the drama were made without her. And unfortunately, time became an issue which lessened the chance of a successful drama.

"Dae Jang Geum" was broadcasted in 2003 and recorded 50%, and "Dae Jang Geum 2" was announced for production last year. "Dae Jang Geum 2" is MBC's cherished business, long enough to be mentioned continuously.

Although we won't be seeing it this year, this drama will always have potential. It's now unknown what's going to happen to it.
