Dooly remains popular

Consistently popular among children through broadcasting and the internet, Dooly made its comeback to TV screen in 21st years. Dooly is now airing on SBS and Tooniverse, an animation channel after it debuted on Christmas as 'Dooly the Baby Dinosaur' (26 episodes). On SBS, it is broadcast every Thursday 4.p.m. which is not a prime time. However, it records viewership of about 2% per every episode and has its highest rating of 4.4%. It is rebroadcast at the same time every Wednesday. On Tooniverse (Monday 5.p.m. and Friday 8.p.m.), it has maintained 2~3% ratings with its first episode recorded 3.4 % of rating in Feb., the highest among cable TV programs broadcast at the same time.
Dooly is also popular online. Its video posted in Tooniland, a kids portal, is among the top 10 animations, with over 1.2 million hits. On the back of its huge popularity, it debuts as a musical at the Lotte World Art Theater 24th next month. Family musical 'Dooly the Baby Dinosaur' follows Dooly and his friends who leave for Ggoldoogi (star) to search Ko Gil-dong who disappears.

In addition, its theatrical version will be made. The number of products made related to Dooly to date is over 350. "Not only school supplies such as bags and notes but also cell phone cases with dooly character are popular among children", said Ryu Mi-hee, representative of Dooly Nara.
