Dreams are made of action

2008/09/05 | 85 views | Permalink | Source

The Korean documentary "Action Boys" follows the lives and dreams of five students of the Seoul Action School who have extensive experience under the belt, including major films like "The Good, the Bad, the Weird" and "Seven Days".

Director Jung Byung-gil said that he wanted to capture the dreams of these young people and their passion for life. According to its distributor Sangsangmadang, it will make you laugh and cry. The documentary shows the hard life of underpaid stuntmen whose passion can not be stopped by broken bones.

Like the hardships in the life of the stuntmen, the documentary faced its own difficulties, in an economical way. The film's budget was supported by the Korean Film Council and cultural centre Sangsangmadang.

The documentary won the audience award at this year' s Jeonju International Film Festival and played at the New York Asian Film Festival. The film will also travel to the Vancouver Film Festival.
