The next k-pop singer to officially debut in Japan is Fat Cat.
According to her agency, Yoori Entertainment, Fat Cat has recently signed a 3-year contract with Japanese recording company JVC and the management/production company Rainbow Entertainment, for over five hundred million won (equivalent to about $456,000).
Fat Cat first debuted in Korea in the fall of 2011, shocking the public with her bright red hair and powerful song. Unfortunately, after releasing three singles, she had to focus on treatment for a sudden onset of idiopathic edema, a swelling of the body, common in women.
Rainbow Entertainment officials were said to have been impressed with the young singer's talents and had made efforts to sign her under their label. Fat Cat is being praised for her potential not only as a singer in Japan, but an actress an fashion leader.
Fat Cat will set off for Japan on October 31st to get acquainted with the country. She will proceed with promotions in both Korea and Japan simultaneously.
