Girls' Generation and Super Junior see highest album sales in 2010

Korean idols Girls' Generation and Super Junior have sold the most albums this year, according to album distributor Hanteo on Tuesday.

Girls' Generation and Super Junior placed at No. 1 and 2, respectively, on music website Hanteo Chart's listing for overall album sales between January 1 to December 26.

Girls' Generation's sales this year -- composed of 32 of their singles and albums since their debut in 2007 -- amounted to about 303,443 copies, while Super Junior sold a total 262,610 copies of their records.

Trailing behind in third place was SM Entertainment labelmate SHINee with 154,332 albums sold, followed by trio JYJ selling 127,456 records, and six-member boy band BEAST in fifth place.

Meanwhile, on Hanteo Chart's listing for the 2010 Album Award, Super Junior came in first with version A of their fourth full-length album "BONAMANA" which sold 132,127 copies, followed by Girls' Generation's "Oh!" at No. 2 with 123,668 copies and their third mini-album "Hoot" with 94,942 editions.

SHINee's second full-length album "LUCIFER" scored the No. 4 spot with 58,628 records sold and songstress BoA rounded out the top five with 57,273 copies of her sixth full-length release "Hurricane Venus" purchased by fans.

The Hanteo Chart listings combines the sales figures from all record retail stores and local album distributors.
