Gov't to Hawk Miniseries to Foreign Media

The Korea Tourism Organization on Monday said it will promote the popular TV historical miniseries "Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jjang Geum)" to 60 female reporters from abroad.

The miniseries is based on the life of the only woman in Korean history, Jang-geum the Great, to serve as head physician to a king.

The reporters from the United States, China, Japan, Thailand and seven other countries will arrive Wednesday for a week-long stay.

They will tour sites where the miniseries was filmed including Seonun and Naeso temples in North Jeolla Province, Geumsan in South Chungcheong Province and Jeju Island.

Also on their itinerary are a theme song concert, lectures on traditional Korean medicine, tasting of royal cuisine and trying on the traditional attire of court ladies.
