Han Suk-kyu and Shin Ha-kyun win the SBS and KBS Grand Awards

Actors Han Suk-kyu and Shin Ha-kyun had the honor of taking home the SBS and KBS Grand Awards.

Han Suk-kyu was given the Grand Prize for his performance in the SBS drama special, "Deep-rooted Tree" at the 2011 SBS Acting Awards at the SBS Open Hall in Seoul on December 31st, hosted by Ji Sung and Choi Kang-hee.

Known as the best actor in Chungmuro for his movies "Shiri", "Green Fish", "The Contact" and others, Han Suk-kyu returned to TV dramas for the first time in 16 years to take on the role of the 'swearing king', highlighting he dual character of King Sejong/Lee Do.

"Deep-rooted Tree" was also awarded Best Drama, Best Actress in a Drama Special (Shin Se-kyung), Teen Star Award (Han Suk-kyu and Jang Hyuk), Drama Special Popular Actress Award (Dong Ok-sook), The Producer Award (Song Joong-ki) and others for a total of six awards. Jang Hyuk was also awarded a Best Actor for his role in the SBS Drama "Midas".

Ji Sung, who hosted this night's events and played a role in the SBS drama "Protect the Boss" won three prizes (Drama Special Best Actor, Teen Award, Best Couple Award) and partner Choi Kang-hee won five prizes (Drama Special Best Actress, Teen Award, Best Couple Award and The Most Popular Among Netizen's Award).

Lee Min-ho from the SBS Drama "City Hunter" also won three trophies (Drama Special Best Actor, Teen Award and The Most Popular Among Netizens' Award).

Lee Dong-wook and Kim Sun-ah from SBS weekend drama "Scent of a Woman", won two trophies (Best Actress and Actor in Weekend Drama and Teen Awards). Kim Rae-won and Soo Ae won two (Drama Special Best Actress and Actor, Teen Award) as well.

Meanwhile, Shin Ha-kyun got the Grand Prize at the 2011 KBS Acting Awards, hosted by announcer Jeon Hyeon-moo, Han Hye-jin and Joo Won.

He is currently starring as the neurosurgeon Lee Kang-hoon in the drama "Brain".

Several actresses and actors from the KBS dramas in the past year attended these events.
