Han Sunhwa Joins "Backstreet Rookie" as Ji Chang-wook's Girlfriend

Han Sunhwa has been cast for the SBS drama "Backstreet Rookie".

"Backstreet Rookie" is a webtoon-based drama about young woman named Jeong Saet-byeol coming to work at Choi Dae-hyeon's convenience store.

Han Sunhwa takes on the role of Ji Chang-wook's (Choi Dae-hyeon) girlfriend, Yoo Yeon-joo. She's a gorgeous and capable career woman who was raised in an affluent household with good education, but is against a patriarchal and success-oriented family style. With her healthy and sturdy image, she is expected to depict the almost-perfect Yoo Yeon-joo.

Han Sunhwa debuted in 2009 as a member of the idol group Secret. She then started acting in 2014 and starred in dramas "Rosy Lovers", "Radiant Office", "My Husband Oh Jak-doo", "The Great Seducer", "School 2017", "Save Me 2" and more.

In particular, Han Sunhwa learned the Gayageum herself to play the role of Korean classical musician Jang Eun-jo in the MBC drama "My Husband Oh Jak-doo" and in OCN's "Save Me 2", she played Min-cheol's (Um Tae-goo) first love and the town café owner, madam Eun-ah.
