The 2nd 'Chinese Korean Share Your Dream Short Film Festival' started this past Thursday and will run until Saturday. The festival received 572 submissions and opened with Kang Je-kyu's short film "Awaiting" on the 17th. Kang is also one of the judges who will be looking at the main competition entries. Keep an eye out for reports on the festival early next week.

The Busan International Film Festival is nearly upon us, and what better way to prepare than getting to know what there is to see, do and eat in-between screenings. This post by Mathew Scott, writing for the South China Morning Post, includes some great information and advice to ensure that you get the most out of Busan and your time there: "If you arrive in the port city of Busan a few days before its annual film festival kicks off, you can find yourself pretty much alone down on Haeundae beach – no mean feat considering at the height of summer an estimated 100,000 people take up every grain of sand, every single day, along just 1.6 kilometres of foreshore here".
