[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Woman with a Suitcase" Episode 14

2016/12/06 | 683 views | Permalink

The action is high in episode 14 of "Woman with a Suitcase" as guns and egos become the weapons of choice. While things are happening and the episode is fast-paced, the emotional intensity is not reflective of the activity.

The least surprising but most important happening of the episode is the Hye-joo finally went off the deep end. Her denial of her wrong-doings has transformed into a determination to continue on her path of ambition and betrayal of her sister, as her boss predicted she would do. She has usurped the very same boss's position while maniacally laughing. There is a possibility she has even been involved in murder, which is a huge change from her reticent character at the start of this timeline of events. I would've loved to have seen more of her transformation. Most of what we've seen is her solo fretting or her arguing with her sister or her former boss. The man is now left scrambling and also as Hye-joo's enemy. While he's no longer the director of Oh Seong, I do imagine that he has a few tricks up his sleeve.

Bok-geo is jailed and placing his faith in Geum-joo. It's still hard to relate to their romance, but Joo Jin-mo is so powerful he's almost convinced me that the romance is real. He needs some time out of jail and with her to seal the deal.

Seok-woo and Geum-joo have returned to the dynamic that made them so lovably relatable: friendly and comfortable with each other. Seok-woo has established something similar with Bok-geo, which reflects on Lee Joon's ability to establish easy rapport with his co-stars. Other than that, this drama is flagging badly and it still has two more episodes to go.
