[HanCinema's News] Cast Coming into Place for "Yumi's Cells"

A recent comment by SM Entertainment confirming that singer Choi Minho had received an offer to appear in "Yumi's Cells" and that he is considering the offer optimistically have called attention to the production, which is purportedly near completion of the planning stage. Purportedly, Choi Minho has been offered the role of Woo-gi, the unrequited crush of one of Yumi's co-workers. Yumi herself is expected to be played by Kim Go-eun, who has yet to be officially confirmed as the lead.

Nevertheless, unofficial comments from various persons associated with the production clearly indicate that Kim Go-eun's participation in the drama is a baked-in assumption. Actor Ahn Bo-hyun is in a similar position. Purportedly he was offered the role of Goowoong some three weeks ago, and had been reviewing it favorably. Goowoong is the love interest of Yumi, with official confirmation of the roles now seeming to pend an official rollout of the drama's production schedule.

"Yumi's Cells" is based on the popular webtoon of the same title. Though Yumi is the lead character, the story largely centers around the cells in her head and how they react to her daily life. There has been no word on how or who the cells will be cast or presented on-screen. However, screenwriter Kim Yoon-joo of "Find Me in Your Memory" has been confirmed to now be attached to the script alongside Song Jae-jeong and Kim Kyung-ran-I, and that the project will air in a serial television style format.
