One of the factors boosting the popualrity of "Sweet Home" domestically and abroad has been the Netflix's drama good use of practical effects. While specific information of how "Sweet Home" was shot is limited, a snippet of a press conference ahead of the drama's worldwide release offers some clue as to what they were like in practice. Go Min-si specifically called out the overall drama design as a major factor influencing her performance.

According to Go Min-si, the makeup on its own wasn't just the major factor as was the intense weight loss regiment employed by the relevant persons. Go Min-si was shocked to see the lead choreographer, who she called out by name, had lost weight to the point of his ribs being visible, and how this was used in the context of motion capture to be used to emphasize raw nudity in presentation elsewhere of how the monsters moved. Go Min-si described the process as uncanny.

Go Min-si also praised the realism of the set as contributing a lot to her performance. She explicitly gave thanks to the person responsible for making the sets for their hard work. In this way not just the viewers, but also the actors have shown noticable appreciation for hot "Sweet Home" is a cohesive team effort, and not just the work of various talented individuals.
