According to figures released by the Korean Film Council on June 27th, the vehicular thriller film "HARD HIT" easily topped the domestic South Korean box office over the weekend. The movie now stands at over 360,627 admissions. "HARD HIT" is already in fourth place for best performing South Korean films this year, having overtaken "Book of Fish" which had 338,378 admissions.

"HARD HIT" is now in a strong position to overtake "Mission: Possible" as the best performing South Korean film of the year, which had 447,111 admissions. But the film's prospects after that point are much murkier, as the next best performing after "Mission: Possible" is a foreign title that has had over 600,000 admissions. "HARD HIT" stars Jo Woo-jin in a leading role, as he attempts to deal with extortion demands under the threat of his car exploding with him and his children still inside.
