With her special appearance in "Vagabond" and increasing presence on the advertising circuit Jun Ji-hyun appears to be hinting at a return to acting work. This has naturally increased interest in her husband, a man who is not an actor, and whose marriage is the chief reason why Jun Ji-hyun has taken a break so as to have children.
Choi Joon-hyuk is chiefly known as being the maternal grandson to the famed and now departed hanbok designer Lee Young Hee. His elder brother was the lead rap vocalist for the four person dance group X-Large that debtued back in 2004, Choi Joon-ho. Their father is the chairman of an asset management firm. Choi Joon-hyuk himself was working at the Bank of America when he married Jun Ji-hyun, but resigned his position back in February to work in the family business instead.
Jun Ji-hyun actually first got to know Choi Joon-hyuk when they were children. They reconnected some two years before getting married, having started a relationship a year before that time. Jun Ji-hyun's original comments regarding her nuptials downplayed this connection, as she instead described his appeal as being in his refined tastes and emphasized that she would continue her work as an actress, changing as necessary without special regarding to being a married woman.
Jun Ji-hyun made her debut as a model at the age of sixteen. Her reputation as a star was made by her appearance in the hit 2001 film "My Sassy Girl", and her last leading role in a project was in "Legend of the Blue Sea" back in 2016 where she co-starred with Lee Min-ho.
