[HanCinema's News] Kim Hee-ae's Husband Accused of Embezzlement

2020/04/30

According to a report published on April 29th, the former representative of the E-commerce company Fortis was quietly jailed on April 24th on charges of embezzling approximately three hundred and fifty thousand dollars. This has caused trouble for the former representative of Fortis, Lee Chan-jin, better known as the husband of Kim Hee-ae, who has come under suspicion for possibly having been involved in the crime.

The reason why Lee Chan-jin has specifically come under suspicion is because he worked for Fortis during the exact same time period as the alleged embezzler, from 2014 to 2017, and the two had regular work contact with each other. They also had similar reasons for leaving, citing only daily life concerns as being the cause for their resignation.

Fortis has promised to cooperate fully with investigators in regards to providing material explaining how the embezzlement took place and identifying any possible co-conspirators. The news is poorly timed for his wife Kim Hee-ae, as she is in the midst of a popularity surge thanks to "The World of the Married". They married back in 1996. It is as of yet unknown whether any direct evidence links Lee Chan-jin to the crime or if his similar work schedule to the accused is just a coincidence.
