[HanCinema's News] Koo Hye-sun Announces Move to New Agency

In an Instagram post on July 20th Koo Hye-sun announced that she was moving to MIMI Entertainment. The move was long expected. Koo Hye-sun's prominent divorce from Ahn Jae-hyun was dramatically prompted by the actress expressing anger on social media about their agency HB Entertainment attempting to stage manage the divorce in such a way as to minimize any possible impact on "Love With Flaws", Ahn Jae-hyun's then-upcoming drama.

The more unusual news is that Koo Hye-sun did not identify the agency move as an attempt to restart her acting career, instead explicitly defining her interests as those of a director and writer. Koo Hye-sun's last project in a screenwriter/director capacity was "Daughter" in 2014, which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival.
According to Koo Hye-sun, the decision was prompted by the general manager of MIMI Entertainment being a man she has had a positive relationship with since her "Boys over Flowers" days. The news follows official word of Koo Hye-sun's legal divorce from Ahn Jae-hyun being completed on July 15th, as well as an announcement on July 16th that she would make her return with a New Age piano album titled 'Breath 3'.
