[HanCinema's News] Kwon Tae-won Featured on the Cover of Maxim

For the November cover of Maxim Korea, a fairly unusual celebrity was selected. Kwon Tae-won is forty-eight years old and has never had much of a reputation as a leading man. He's the kind of actor who shows up in scene stealing supporting roles. In a riff off of perhaps his most famous turn, as Ho-goo (호구) in "Tazza: The High Rollers", the theme of the spread is Ho-goo (호구). Ho-goo (호구), is, incidentally, a slang term for a kind of loser.

But Kwon Tae-won's reputation goes beyond just memorable supporting roles. In explaining why Kwon Tae-won was chosen for the cover, the editor of Maxim Korea mentioned how for "Tazza: The High Rollers" Kwon Tae-won had a legendary reputation for spreading laughter throughout the shooting site. Much as is the case with his bit roles in movies, Kwon Tae-won elevates the present mood.

In the interview that follows the pictorial Kwon Tae-won honestly admits to some form of jealousy when it comes to more famous co-stars, and even feeling trembling in their presence. But Kwon Tae-won also stated that he enjoys playing losers, even as his filmography is filmed with many other different kinds of roles as well.
