A recently published report by the Korean Brand Research Institute has determined that Lee Young-ae is the most positively branded actress currently working today. The study analyzed social media metrics from October 29th to November 30th. Over one hundred twenty million individual posts across various social media platforms regarding fifty different film actors and actresses were used to arrive at this conclusion.
Across the analyzed data, the Korean Brand Research Institute found that some eight million posts contained positive references to Lee Young-ae and her brand. The second highest performing actor, Gong Yoo, had about five hundred positive references. Kim Eung-soo had four and a half million positive references in third, while Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Jung-jae had a little less than that in fourth and fifth place repsectively.
Lee Young-ae's presence far at the top signifies her enduring popularity among fans, even as her film that released near the end of November, "Bring Me Home", had only limited box office success. Gong Yoo also benefited from his appearance in "Kim Jiyoung Born 1982", his first acting appearance in nearly two years. And Gong Hyo-jin naturally benefited from her leading role in the exceptionally popular fall drama "When the Camellia Blooms".
Kim Eung-soo is the most surprising actor on the list, as he is not a major star and his only current role is as minor cast in "Chief of Staff - Season 2". However, his character in the drama is the father of Lee Jung-jae's character. Aside from Kim Eung-soo's own breakout appeal, the two actors appear to be improving each other's brand in tandem.
