According to a recent press release from Viu, "Lovely Runner" is currently the most popular television drama for the platform in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. The relevant data was collated for the first week of May, here defined as April 29th to May 5th. "Lovely Runner" had been available on the streaming platform for four weeks. The sports romance was also second place in Hong Kong and the Phillippines, and third place in Thailand.

Kim Hye-yoon may account for some of the popularity, as she has been popular overseas since "Extraordinary You" from 2019. "Extraordinary You" is also making distant appearances on Viu's charts in Indonesia and the Philippines, in eleventh and twelfth place respectively. "Lovely Runner" is a time slip romance that sees Kim Hye-yoon's character return to 2008, and is based on the webnovel of the slightly different title The Best of Tomorrow.
