[HanCinema's News] Park So-dam Apologizes for Inability to Do Marketing for "Special Delivery"

In a recent interview actress Park So-dam was apologetic for her inability to do marketing for the action film "Special Delivery" which is releasing on January 12th. The film is her first released project since her agency revealed on December 13th that the actress had been diagnosed with thyroid papillary cancer. Purportedly Park So-dam has undergone surgery, from which she is currently recovering.

Aside from apologies Park So-dam also made note of the color of her hair. This had also been a topic of discussion during promotion for "Parasite" back in 2019 as well as "Fukuoka" back in 2020. Park So-dam insisted that she wishes she could talk more about her experience with "Special Delivery" but needs to focus on her recovery. Park So-dam claims to have been very surprised and scared ever since her original diagnosis.

Park So-dam was also appreciative of her role as the sole headliner for a mainstream film, describing the experience of seeing her own face on the theatrical poster in such prominence as mysterious. Park So-dam appreciated the opportunities she was given, as well as the mentoring attitude taken by older cast and crew in supporting her. Purportedly, Park So-dam believes that it was only with their help that she was able to bring her character to life on-screen.

Going forward Park So-dam is clear that her priority needs to be the restoration of her physical and mental health. She seemed to appreciate the irony of all this happening in the context of appearing as a cool, hypercompetent lead in an action film- an ambition Park So-dam claims to have harbored for several years. In "Special Delivery" Park So-dam will play Eun-ha, a delivery driver who fulfills unusual requests. The film is already leading all other in early reservations at the South Korean box office.
