[HanCinema's News] Roh Jeong-eui Talks About "Our Beloved Summer"

Roh Jeong-eui got her star in South Korean entertainment as a child actress, first appearing in "Pinocchio" in 2014 as the child version of Park Shin-hye's character. But with "Our Beloved Summer" the twenty-year old actress has moved out of student roles, playing an adult in the form of the celebrity NJ. Roh Jeong-eui won Best New Actress for the role, and talked about her experience in a recent interview.

Roh Jeong-eui opened up the interview by thanking viewers for loving the show. In regards to the importance of the role being her first adult one, Roh Jeong-eui felt it was more important that she made a good project alongside capable co-stars. When asked to explain the appeal of "Our Beloved Summer" worldwide, Roh Jeong-eui stated that she thought the drama's charm came in its realistic appraisal of romantic relationships.

Regarding the shoot conditions, Roh Jeong-eui claimed that "Our Beloved Summer" was a very cheerful environment and cited behind-the-scenes videos as representative of just how pleasant it was. Roh Jeong-eui called out Choi Wooshik and Kim Sung-cheol in particular as helping to set the tone of that environment. For Roh Jeong-eui's own character, who often had a gloomy disposition, Roh Jeong-eui made of research she did regarding more documentary style footage of actors and idols.

Roh Jeong-eui also had some choice remarks regarding her character's distinctive blonde hairstyle. According to Roh Jeong-eui, she did a single intensive treatment every two weeks in order to maintain the dye job. She described the feeling as if her hair were being boiled and then thawed out. At first Roh Jeong-eui thought the hair was strange, over time everyone agreed it was a very appropriate complement for her acting. "Our Beloved Summer" ended this past January 25th.
