Gong Seung-yeon, who plays a paramedic, also made explicit reference to the second season in her closing remarks. She noted that viewers would again have to wait for the arrival of the second season while also thanking them for their support until this point. The production company also released a statement explicitly confirming that "The First Responders" would have a second season, saying that further adventures were not to be missed even if the main case of the first season was closed.

None of these statements have made clear when, exactly, the second season of "The First Responders" will begin airing. "Payback" will begin airing in the timeslot currently occupied by "The First Responders" on January 6th, and "Payback" will be followed in turn by "Taxi Driver 2" on February 17th. All three of these dramas are in the SBS Friday/Saturday evening timeslot, although "The First Responders - Season 2" may be moved to a different one.
