A person close to MSTeam Entertainment recently claimed that the agency had a meeting with the production company of the upcoming American film Cross. Purportedly, the purpose of this meeting was to smooth out Son Ye-jin's schedule so that the actress would be able to shoot the movie next year. However, secondary issues of being able to guarantee that the movie could also be shot in South Korea as planned were also said to be under discussion.

Cross reportedly takes place in a time of conflcit between a rich country and a poor country separated by a harshly enforced border. The director for Cross says that he got the idea from observing the division of Korea when he visited the country in 2018. Son Ye-jin has been offered the role of Vera, a citizen in the poorer country. Actor Lee Sun-kyun was also offered the role of a frontier officer named Gideon. Neither role has been officially accepted, and are still considered to be under deliberation.
