[HanCinema's News] "Special Delivery" Leads South Korean Box Office Going into Weekend

According to figures released by the Korean Film Council, "Special Delivery" is the first domestic film to top the South Korean box office this year. The vehicular action film stars Park So-dam in the leading role. It ended its opening day January 12th with 43,515 admissions, and added another 29,773 admissions in January 13th for a total of 73,288 admissions.

The South Korean box office remains dominated by foreign films. The latest Spider-Man film has over 6 million cumulative admissions at the South Korean box office, and was the previous leader. Other foreign films are putting in numbers comparable to those that "Special Delivery" has posted. "Special Delivery" comes from writer/director Park Dae-min, who had previously made "Private Eye" in 2009 and "Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River" in 2015.
