[HanCinema's News] Stars Returned From Military Service Offer Reprieve for 'Burning Sun'

The 'Burning Sun' scandal has rocked the South Korean entertainment industry, destroying careers and tarnishing the worldwide image of the South Korean entertainment brand. So it's fortunate timing that so many major male stars are now returning from mandatory military service, apparently clean from scandal.

Lee Min-ho is one such major example. The star of "The Heirs" and "Legend of the Deep Blue Sea" has left a strong impression on his many fans. Foreign fans flocked to commemorate his return on April 25th, and are eagerly awaiting news of his next project.

Ji Chang-wook, meanwhile, has already made that decision, committing to "Melting Me Softly" as his next major project shortly after his official release on April 27th. Ji Chang-wook has also already committed to a fan meeting on May 19th, wasting no time in getting back to work.

There are still more celebrity returns to come. Cho Kyuhyun of Super Junior will be back on May 7th. Ok Taecyeon of 2PM is also due to return sometime in May.

The return of these big names is welcome to an industry that has been suffering due to the actions of Seungri, Choi Jong-hoon, and others. The Burning Sun scandal has been major news in international outlets, but as further revelations dwindle in scope and depravity, celebrities on return from military service have a strong chance to change the generally sour mood at present.
