[HanCinema's News] "The World of the Married" Breaks "SKY Castle" Record for Seoul

"The World of the Married" achieved new heights in the ratings with 22.92% in its most recent episode. However, the drama's performance in Seoul was even more impressive, with a 25.9% rating among the city center. This has allowed "The World of the Married" to pass "SKY Castle" as the best-performing jTBC drama on that metric. The highest record "SKY Castle" obtained in city ratings was 24.6%.

"The World of the Married" has long done better among cosmpolitan audiences than South Korea at large. Its inaugural episode, for example, had a 6.8% rating in the city versus a 6.3% ratings for South Korea overall. Over time "The World of the Married" has improved its city ratings at a slightly higher rate than the national rating, suggesting stronger appeal in cosmopolitan areas. Of course, its ratings in South Korea writ large are still outstanding, even if they have yet to outperform "SKY Castle".

South Korean terrestrial ratings are collected by Nielsen Korea. "The World of the Married" airs on jTBC on Friday and Saturday nights and is a remake of the BBC drama Doctor Foster- although it has long since outpaced the cultural penetration of its source material.
