Persons close to the film distributor Acemaker as well as Netflix have suggested to press that "Wonderland" is likely to be released on Netflix internationally next year in all territories except for South Korea and China. In an official statement, Netflix has said that while negotiations are ongoing a definite deal has not yet been reached. The exception for China is due to the movie starring Tang Wei, which may allow for a theatrical release there as well as in South Korea.
"Wonderland" is the first movie in ten years from director Kim Tae-yong, whose last feature film was "Late Autumn". Kim Tae-yong is also married to Tang Wei, who starred in the film. "Wonderland" has quite a few noteworthy stars attached to the project, including Park Bo-gum, Bae Suzy, Jung Yu-mi, and Choi Wooshik. Gong Yoo had also been offered a role in "Wonderland", though he has not been confirmed as starring in the movie.
"Wonderland" deals with artifical intelligence technology that allows people to meet loved ones they no longer can. Most of the movie completed filming in late September. The film is currently undergoing post-production. Purportedly the scenes featuring Tang Wei have not yet been filmed, and are currently scheduled for sometime in January. It is not known when "Wonderland" will release domestically or worldwide, but the tentative expected release date is in the first half of next year.
