Film director Ryoo Seung-wan, who brought the delightful entertainment as well as the thrilling catharsis reflecting the current social issues with his movie, "Veteran" boasting over 13 million audience last year, is working to present the story out of the hidden history of the battleship island, where many Koreans were drafted for labor forcefully and had to face deaths during Japanese occupation.

Hwang Jung-min will play Lee Gang-ok, the band director of Gyeongseong Hotel, who was deceived by the words he could perform in Japan and end up in the The Battleship Island. So Ji-sub will play Choi Chil-seong, the most feared fighter in Gyeongseong, who conquered the surrounding area of Jongro street. Song Joong-ki will play Park Moo-yeong, who infiltrates into the The Battleship Island to rescue an important member of Independence Movement. Lee Jung-hyun will play Mal-ryeon, a Korean woman, who was dragged to the The Battleship Island. Along with the film director Ryoo Seung-wan, the team shows off a powerful cast.

Director Ryoo Seung-wan said, "I'm happy that the first take went as smoothly as possible. The filming will be tough as it progresses; I believe we will do a great job". Hwang Jung-min said, "The long journey has begun now. As it is a huge project, I hope we will be able to complete it safely. I am worried about it much because the team including the director Ryoo Seung-wan and all other staff worked together previously".
