Singer and actress Hye-ri recently donated W100 million to UNICEF Korea to help children in need, her agency said Tuesday (US$1=W1,179).

Other celebrity donors who have contributed at least W100 million to the children's fund include actor Ahn Sung-ki, actress Kim Hye-soo, figure skater Kim Yu-na and Jin, a member of the boy band BTS.

Hye-ri will also engage in promotional activities for the agency's campaign to provide an education for underprivileged children in about a dozen Asian countries.

To help create a safe and clean educational environment, her contributions will be used to construct school buildings, provide textbooks and AIDS-prevention programs and establish training courses for teachers.
