"Actor Lee Shin-ki, who has been strongly imprinted on global viewers with "The Worst of Evil" killer Seo Jong-ryeol, has confirmed his appearance in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama "Such a Close Traitor". Lee Shin-ki will play the role of Kim Yong-soo, the police corporal of the homicide crime team, and become a detective who pursues criminals", said an official from JR ENT.

"Such a Close Traitor" is a thriller drama about a daughter who confronts her secret about a murder case that is being investigated by the best profiler in Korea, and pursues the truth in the abyss by collapsing desperately. Corporal Kim Yong-soo, played by Lee Shin-ki, takes care of his team leader Oh Jeong-hwan (Yoon Kyung-ho) and his juniors.

Lee Shin-ki reunites with Yoon Kyung-ho, who was at the opposite point in "The Worst of Evil" as the same team this time. Kim Yong-soo, who likes profiling and criminal psychology, has a personal interest in Jang Tae-soo (Han Suk-kyu), but maintains his poker face because he is conscious of Oh Jung-hwan, who often has conflict with Tae-soo. Lee Shin-ki, who was nominated for the TV Rookie of the Year award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards by demonstrating his powerful presence in "The Worst of Evil", is expected to star in "Such a Close Traitor" just by transforming himself into a 'good side detective'. Lee Shin-ki is determined to break down into Kim Yong-soo, a detective who runs on his feet to solve the cases and give another strong performance.

Meanwhile, "Such a Close Traitor" which is expected to be the most anticipated work of the year when trusted and watched actors meet, is scheduled to be broadcast in the second half of 2024.
