[Interview] Song Joong-ki, "Interesting connections? I don't want to say them"

2017/06/21 Source

Actor Song Joong-ki celebrated the anniversary of Sports Seoul which was first published in the year 1985, the year he was born too.

Song Joong-ki is remembered for his role as Yoo Si-jin in the drama "Descendants of the Sun" from last year. This year, he's coming back with the movie "The Battleship Island" as Park Moo-yeong.

Song Joong-ki is 32-years-old just like Sports Seoul. He was amused that they were the same age and sat down for an interview.

After Yoo Si-jin from "Descendants of the Sun", Song Joong-ki moved right onto "The Battleship Island" and he still has that 'military speech' about him.

- How was Song Joong-ki's 32nd birthday party?

Sports Seoul asked Song Joong-ki to introduce a new friend and he just smiled.

Q. Your birthday is on the 19th of September. How do you celebrate your birthday?

Song Joong-ki: I don't usually have parties. I don't like making a big fuss out of it so I just have dinner with friends.

Q. Jo In-sung and Lee Gwang-soo are some of your close friends. Is there anyone else you'd like to say you're close to?

Song Joong-ki: I've met many new friends since my debut. Thanks to them I've been influenced well and here I am today. The friends that many people know or don't know about are good people regardless of who they are. I don't want to tell you anyone else if you don't know them (laughs).

Q. What is the most memorable birthday gift you got? What do you want this year?

Song Joong-ki: I think the best present this year would be the success of "The Battleship Island".

Q. Is there anyone you'd like to work with or work with again?

Song Joong-ki: Sol Kyung-gu, I'd like to work with him. I respect him and I'd like to work with him.

I would like to meet Lee Kyung-young again. We did "The Battleship Island" together and it was an honor. I would like the chance to work with him once more.
