He won Best Actor at the 36th Blue Dragon Awards on the 26th. He beat his competitors Song Kang-ho, Lee Jung-jae, Jung Jae-young and Hwang Jung-min.

This is Yoo Ah-in's first Best Actor trophy of his life. Born in 1986 and turning 30 next year, it's outstanding that he took home the trophy. He is the youngest actor out of all the candidates and had the least amount of acting experience. However, there were no different views on the result. Everyone agrees he deserved it.

Yoo Ah-in became the icon of success this year with "Veteran" and "The Throne". The gap between the two movies is just 4 months. However, the success of "Veteran" long lived the movie in theaters and the second movie happened to be in theaters at the same time. Furthermore, even the second movie was a success with a total of 6.2 million audiences.

Yoo Ah-in played a big part in the success of both movies. His acting was superb and neither one distracted the audience from the other. Yoo Ah-in was completely different in both movies and not just because of character and era of the movies. His eyes and actions were different.

He played a third generation plutocrat named Jo Tae-oh in "Veteran" and in "The Throne" he played the unfortunate Prince Sado, son of King Yeong Jo played by Song Kang-ho. He took home the trophy for "The Throne" this year but the two movies made Yoo Ah-in what he is today. He should be proud of that as he deserved it fair and square.

Yoo Ah-in's voice shook as he made a speech. He fidgeted and was sweaty, the obvious signs that he was nervous. He said, "I am not the stage type; I was so nervous I had to take a chill pill. I don't' think it's (this trophy) is mine. I got it for "The Throne" but thank you all for your support for "Veteran" too".
