Jang Hyuk scores top prize at KBS Drama Awards

Korean actor Jang Hyuk won the top prize at the 2010 KBS Drama Awards, held at the KBS Open Hall on December 31.

Jang received the grand prize of the year for his role as Dae-gil in the historical series "The Slave Hunters", making it his first award at a year-end ceremony.

"My heart is beating really fast right now and I want to thank director Kwak Jeong-hwan, scenarist Cheon Seong-il and my co-stars Sung Dong-il, Lee Da-hae and Oh Ji-ho", said Jang in his acceptance speech.

He went on to say, "It's already been 15 years since I started acting and I want to thank everyone at my agency and turn the honor to my parents, my wife and son".

"The Slave Hunters" also scored wins in five categories including Kim Kap-soo and Oh Ji-ho first and second prizes for best actor, respectively, Sung Dong-il for best supporting actor and Jang Hyuk and Lee Da-hae for best couple.

Other honorable mentions that night were "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" which took home five awards and this year's highest viewership ratings-scorer "Bread, Love and Dreams", which collected six awards.
