Highly anticipated dramas KBS 1TV "Jing Bi-rok" and MBC "Splendid Politics" haven't been greatly successful and are about to end. With these three actors starring in upcoming historical dramas, will they succeedl?

Jang Hyuk, Yoo Ah-in and Song Il-kook are coming back with KBS 2TV drama "The Merchant: Gaekju 2015", SBS "Six Flying Dragons" and KBS 1TV "Jang Young-sil". They put weight on being heroic because analysis says that "Jing Bi-rok" and "Splendid Politics" distracted the story by putting too much weight on the history and not the characters. Most of the past historical dramas put focus on the characters overcoming various problems and obstacles in the drama.

Jang Hyuk comes first. He's starring in "The Merchant: Gaekju 2015" as a peddler. Based on writer Kim Joo-yeong's novel "Innkeeper", he stars in the drama as Cheon Bong-sam. Anticipation for his featuring in the drama is high as he is a known successor in previous dramas like "The Slave Hunters", "Deep-rooted Tree" and more.

Yoo Ah-in comes next with "Six Flying Dragons". He plays the role of Tae Jong Lee Bang-won. "Six Flying Dragons" is the success story of Lee Bang-won and six other characters. Yoo Ah-in also has two other movies coming out soon.

Song Il-kook becomes Joseon scientist Jang Young-sil. The drama "Jang Young-sil" is about an inventor and scientist Jang Young-sil. Song Il-kook hasn't been acting since 2011 so his comeback is great news to his fans.
