Singer Jang Nara will suspend her career in China for a while to star in a Korean television drama after a one-year hiatus. She will play the daughter of a rich family in the new Monday-Tuesday KBS TV2 series "Wedding" which is to premiere Sept. 2.

Jang showed off a completely new image when she appeared at a club in Gangnam on Aug. 9. She was wearing a tight white dress and eye-catching accessories, in stark contrast with her previous image that was reminiscent of a college student.

"I am very nervous as this is my first role playing a nice and charming girl from an affluent family in a Korean series", said Jang.

"Wedding" is a story about two main characters who, unlike other young-generation people who marry after falling in love, tie the knot through a matchmaker.

Questioned about the secret of her popularity in China, Jang said demurely, "I think it's my down-to-earth, girl-next-door image. I have received so much love from Chinese viewers because they like hallyu dramas and Korean entertainers".
