Ji Chang-wook told various stories about the Netflix drama "The Sound of Magic" in a video interview on the 9th. It is a fantasy music drama that tells the story of a mysterious magician appearing in front of a girl who lost her dream and a boy who is forced to dream.

Ji Chang-wook said, "They were fairytale-like and warm stories. From the moment I saw the script, it was like my story", he said. "It is a story of all of us, including poverty, money, dreams, academic performance, and other people's eyes. When I was young, I had a hard time with poverty, and I had a lot of academic stress", he said.

He said of his childhood, "I grew up with a single mother. My father died early. I felt a lot of loss", he said. "I felt that reality was not easy at a young age. I always felt depressed when I was young, but I think I overcame it with my mother's love", he confessed.

Ji Chang-wook said, "My mother, who I always relied on, was relying on me at some point", adding, "I felt like I had become an adult who had to bear weight after seeing my parent who was in charge of me become the person I was responsible for".

"I thought an adult was a person who could lead my friends well", he said. "I wanted to be a person who gave answers when I was young, but now I want to think about it with my juniors when they asked questions. I think that kind of person is a wonderful adult. I want to be that kind of person".

Ji Chang-wook plays the role of magician Ri Eul in the drama. He is said to have learned magic from Lee Eun-gyeol for three to four months to play the role.

Ji Chang-wook said, "I trusted and relied on Lee Eun-gyeol because I didn't have magic knowledge", adding, "Magic is not just a trick. Details such as hand movements, gaze, and breathing are difficult. It was interesting to show it to my friends. I needed skills and shamelessness", he explained.

For Ji Chang-wook, this work was a new challenge. "These days, when I choose a work, I wonder, 'What kind of image can I show?' It remains a filmography. It feels like I'm engraving it on my body without erasing it", he said. "" The Sound of Magic" will be a work that will make me strong later".

Meanwhile, "The Sound of Magic" was released on Netflix on the 6th and ranked fourth in the global rankings.
