Sumi Jo to Sing During Pope's Mass in Daejeon

Soprano Sumi Jo will make a special appearance at a mass led by Pope Francis in Daejeon on Aug. 15.

Before the mass begins, she will sing a couple of songs and then sing "Panis Angelicus" by Cesar Franck later.

Jo is known to be a devout Catholic and has previously stated her desire to sing for the pontiff.

She postponed previous commitments to attend the mass.

"I have the greatest respect for the pope's genuine and humble character", she said. "I am happy to be given the honor of singing for the pope".
