2019/06/20 | 313 views | Permalink | Source

Actor Jung Woo-sung appealed for attention to the refugees on the occasion of the 'World Refugee Day' on the 20th.

Through his SNS, the actor said, "More than 70 million people were forced to flee in 2018. Refugees around the world need our solidarity more than ever".

"Every minute, 25 people fled from conflicts and violence, forced to leave everything - often their loving family members - behind. Please join me and take a #StepWithRefugees this #WorldRefugeeDay".

The U.N. General Assembly designated June 20 as "World Refugee Day" in attempts to increase international attention to refugees.

Jung Woo-sung is the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency and has declared a steady voice on the refugee issue.

He was recently in Bangladesh and shares his experience from the refugee village in his essay "If You Could See What I Have Seen".
