Kang Ha-neul will be a clown in his next acting project after When the Camellia Blooms.

According to Korean media reports on 15 November, Kang Ha-neul will take up the role of the pure, emotional and romantic Love Clown in theater production Fantasy Tale (literal title).

The play that tells the story about the three clowns and their involvement in the lives of Hans and Marie will open on 21 December 2019. However, Kang Ha-neul will join the production in January 2020.

Fantasy Tale is Kang Ha-neul's return to theater after his last performance in Harold and Maude five  years ago. He is expected to attend rehearsals right after filming concludes for KBS hit drama, "When the Camellia Blooms".

This production that combines dance, mime, music, and acting will also reunite Kang Ha-neul with Kim Dong-yeon, director of military musical Shinheung Military Academy.

Fantasy Tale has captivated theater fans since its premiere in 2003. It was also performed in 2010 and 2013 in Seoul and in selected cities around the country. For this season, the play is expected to return with a more upgraded performance since the last production six years ago.

Shows will be held until 1 March 2020 at the Dongduk Women's University Performing Arts Center Cotton Hall in Daehakro, Seoul. Tickets are available in global Interpark for 60,000 Korean won.
