KBS Drama "Emperor of the Sea" to Air in India

The KBS TV drama "Emperor of The Sea" starring Choi Soo-jong and Song Il-kook will air in India.

An official from KBS said on Feb. 15, "Starting from late March, 'Emperor of The Sea' will air on Channel 1 (DD-1) of Doordarshan TV, India's only terrestrial network, a first for a South Korean drama".

Of the total of 51 episodes, 36 episodes of the drama have already been dubbed in Hindi. Divided into three parts, each episode will be broadcast between Monday and Friday.

Sharad Dutt, editing director for "Emperor of The Sea" at Doordarshan TV, made a prediction, saying, "I believe 'Emperor of The Sea' will appeal to young Indian viewers because of its elaborate production, tight storyline, and characters' costumes".

"Emperor of The Sea" has been exported to eight countries, including India, China and Taiwan, earning approximately 1.8 million dollars in profits. TRT, the Turkish public broadcasting station, is also planning to air the drama.
