"Saya Saya (Bird, bird)", a drama produced by Ko Yeong-tak of the Korean Broadcasting System, won the top award in the category of TV movies and mini series at this year's Prix Italia last week.

The Prix Italia, an annual event held in Venice, is a prestigious international competition pitting radio, television and Web programs.

Based on the same title of a novel written by Sin Kyong-sook, the HD feature drama visualizes a love story between a mother and a son who are both deaf.

According to KBS, juries of the international competition noted that the drama draws "a magic, moving and poetic story about the power of love with high quality performances".
