As the weather gets warmer, I see more people commuting to work riding their bicycles. Commuting by bike is great because it's a cheap, eco-friendly way to travel that also helps you keep fit. Need more reasons to be motivated? Here's an infographic from Mother Nature Network that shows more benefits of biking.

There's one downside to taking your bike downtown: bikes are easier to steal than cars and it can be annoying to carry the lock and chain all the time.

Saddle Lock is an innovative lock system that is developed by three Korean design students who saw the need for a faster, more convenient way to lock up a bike and also preserve its aesthetics.

So how does Saddle Lock work? When you need to make a quick stop in front of a store, all you need to do is swing the seat back onto the back tire and turn a lever to lock it in place. Check out the photos below to get a clearer idea of the process.

This innovation is catching attention from the design industry, as Saddle lock just won a Red Dot design award. This is truly a must-have bike accessory if you want to commute conveniently and and keep looking stylish.

This is just a concept for now but designers are working on making it into reality. I, for one, will be keeping my hopes high.
