Actress Kim Go-eun is starring in the drama "Yumi's Cells" as Yumi, the leading actress.
Studio Dragon announced on the 31st of December that Kim Go-eun confirmed her role as Yumi in the webtoon original drama m "Yumi's Cells".
The character of Yumi is an ordinary office worker in her 30s who shows growth through love and work and finds happiness in the little things. Kim Go-eun said, "I think it was the power of empathy that Yumi had to make people laugh and cry. I'm looking forward to the journey ahead".
Author Lee Dong-geon's webtoon "Yumi's Cells" is a work that expresses the story of Yumi, an ordinary office worker in her 30s, from the perspective of Yumi's brain cells. It finished its five-year series in November with 3.2 billion views.
The drama will be produced by combining animation to embody the images of the cells in Yumi's head.
The screenplay is written by writer Song Jae-jeong and Kim Kyung-ran-I while it is helmed by Lee Sang-yeob-I. The drama will begin filming in early 2021.
